Privacy in brief

The way your data is handled on this site.

Data controller

The controller for the data processed at https://crushhookup.uk is the private, non-commercial operator of the site. That individual determines the means and purposes of processing under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Contact is through the site's form.

How long data is kept

Personal data is kept only for as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected for. Server logs are deleted promptly and form data once the request is dealt with, unless a legal obligation requires longer retention.

Recipients

For the technical running of the site, a hosting provider processes data solely on our instructions. Our host, Fasthosts Internet Limited, is bound as a processor under Article 28 of the UK GDPR. Beyond this, no further processors are engaged. Your data is not sold or passed on for marketing.

Cookies and local storage

Only cookies needed for the site to work are used. Advertising or analytics cookies are set only with your consent, as required by PECR, and you can withdraw that consent at any time. You can also refuse cookies through your browser settings.

Changes to this policy

We revise this policy if the law or the service changes. The current version here is the one in force.

Rights under the UK GDPR

The UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 give you the following rights:

  • Right of access: a copy of the data held about you.
  • Rectification: correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Right to erasure: ask for your data to be deleted.
  • Restriction: limit how your data is used.
  • Objection: object to how your data is used.
  • Portability: obtain your data in a portable form.
  • Right to withdraw consent: at any time, where processing relies on consent.

These rights can be exercised through the site's contact form. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the United Kingdom supervisory authority, at ico.org.uk.

Purposes and lawful bases

The processing serves to provide the site, keep it secure and answer your messages. The lawful basis is legitimate interest in the secure operation of the site (Article 6(1)(f) of the UK GDPR), together with your consent where required (Article 6(1)(a)).

Access data

When you visit the site, the server automatically records technical data including IP address, timestamp, the page requested and browser type. It supports security and is erased after a short time.
